Artzine - The Bride of 24hours

It's madcap mayhem as local writers, actors and directors get together to create and perform six brand new short plays within a single 24 hour period. Artzine's cameras were there for every nail biting minute of this amazing feat called, The Bride of 24hours and watched as writers wrote, actors rehearsed and directors tried to make sense of it all before the curtain went up. Featured are the personalities from BlueForms Theater Group, MadLab Theater, Phoenix Theater Circle, CATCo and Columbus Childrens Theater.

Celebrate Columbus Asian Festival (May 27th and 28th) with a look at the ageless tradition of the Lion Dance. Dont miss the fascinating history of this athletic celebration.

Quilts have transcended their homey reputation and embraced modern influences. The Ohio Arts Councils Riffe Gallery recently hosted an exhibition showcasing some of the most exciting and innovative trends in art quilts and we sat down with a few artists and talked about how needle and thread are gaining high-art status.

Each year Columbus Childrens Theatre hosts The Child Writing Project to encourage creative writing in elementary schools and to demonstrate how stories can come alive through live theatre. This year's project, entitled "A Funny Thing Happened&," inspired over 1000 entries from elementary schools all over Ohio. Eighteen winners were chosen this year and the CCT touring company will perform these stories-turned-into-plays to over 40,000 elementary school children throughout Ohio. We take a look at the process and talk with these aspiring writers.
