Voters in Tuesday's special election overwhelmingly defeated Issue One - opting to keep the status quo of a simple majority to amend Ohio's constitution.
Turnout exceeded all expectations. The issue was trounced by voters in large metropolitan counties. Smaller, rural counties largely supported the measure.
The election attracted national attention, drew millions of dollars in ad buys, and disproved the notion that no one would turn out in August.
Now, attention shifts to November 7 and efforts to enshrine abortion access and reproductive rights into the state constitution.
