The Ohio Redistricting Commission passed a second version of new legislative maps on Saturday night, however again the Republicans failed to attract the needed Democratic support for a ten-year map.
Ohio House Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington), the newest member of the commission, mourned the lost opportunity. Republicans had their own criticisms of the Democrat-proposed maps.
Either way, the state's high court has the final say after ruling the first set of maps created last year were unconstitutional and gerrymandered.
