Issue 1 on Ohio's midterm ballot seeks to lessen criminal penalties for drug possession. Proponents of this constitutional amendment say this would decrease a growing prison population amid the opioid epidemic.
Still, others see the proposal as a quick fix to the complicated issues of illegal drug use and trafficking in Ohio.
