Instagram announced last week that it would pause development of an app intended for children after internal company documents showed the popular social media platform is harmful to teens' well-being.
The revelations, leaked by a former company employee, come on the heels of ongoing congressional scrutiny of Facebook and pushback from parents worried about Instagram use by younger children.
