Description
A lawsuit was filed this week against five manufacturers of painkillers in the fight against Ohio's deadly opioid crisis, but it may also be a political move too. Attorney General Mike DeWine filed the suit, while Democrats, including some of those running for governor, say Republicans haven't done enough to battle the opioid crisis.

This week another candidate joined the potential Democratic ticket on next fall's ballot. Steve Dettelbach was the US Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio till he stepped down last year and started expressing an interest in running for attorney general, and says he's not intimidated that Republican auditor Dave Yost may have better name recognition.

Farmers all around Ohio are turning to lawmakers to help fix what they see as a major crisis. Taxes on their land have been soaring. But as Statehouse correspondent Andy Chow reports, making a change to the tax formula could do some damage to a different industry.

Staying with the subject of education, it was a little over a year ago that Paolo DeMaria became the fourth state school superintendent in a five-year period. DeMaria sits down this week to review his first year and look ahead.
