Description
The coronavirus has spread to every continent except Antarctica. While there are relatively few cases in the U.S., and no confirmed cases in Ohio, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention this week said it is only a matter of time before we see broader transmission here and urged individuals, businesses, schools, hospitals and others to prepare. In Washington, they're talking about billions to battle coronavirus and President Trump has placed Vice President Mike Pence in charge of the government's response. We'll talk with an infectious disease expert and the Cuyahoga County health commissioner about coronavirus and what needs to be done. Later, United Way leaders explain why they're refocusing funding to fight poverty and we'll dig into a report in Cleveland Scene that calls leadership of the agency into question.

Guests:
Amesh Adalja, MD, Senior Scholar, Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security

Terry Allan, Health Commissioner, Cuyahoga County Board of Health

August "Augie" Napoli, President & CEO, United Way of Greater Cleveland

Nancy Mendez, Vice President, Community Impact, United Way of Greater Cleveland

Sam Allard, Senior Writer, Cleveland Scene
